Plates by Master D

We’re aiming to make most of our Christmas presents this year, and to foster a love of giving in our children. Luckily we also love being creative ๐Ÿ™‚ and getting inspired by others.

We bought some nice plain white plates, one for each of us, and some special paint pens (DecoColour opaque paint markers) that you can use on ceramics.

I gave Master D a red, yellow, green and blue pen and let him go for it! He thought it was great fun getting to paint on plates!

He painted a picture of Little Miss Q on her plate. He told me as he painted, ‘she has a big head and big eyes, two legs and two arms’ – I think this is my favourite ๐Ÿ™‚ (sorry, for some reason it keeps rotating the photo to the side)

A dinosaur in a cave for his (surprise, surprise!) (and again, on it’s side):

 A rainbow for daddy:

And a dinosaur with a Wookie dog for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Now we are going to wrap them up to put under the tree for Christmas. Oh, and I couldn’t help myself and gave it a go too ๐Ÿ™‚

Warm wishes, Kelly

I love these. I remember that my aunt had some “drawn” plates when I was little. THanks for the memories. I’m sure these gifts will be loved.megancraftycpa.blogspot.com

I have always wanted to try the plate drawings. Do you have to bake these? I have seen kits at Michaels that require cooking the plate.

Thanks everyone, we are now off to get some mugs to do too ๐Ÿ™‚ And Becca, we didn’t bake these and apparently you don’t have to with this type of paint pen. I am a little worried about the paint scratching off though, so I might do a test by baking one ๐Ÿ™‚
