Happy lil ❤’s are baking # 10

What did you bake with your little ones this week? Or, if you don’t have anything new we’d love to see something from your archives 😉

Below is a linky list to join in the fun and start sharing what you bake or cook with your children, so we can inspire each other. Family favourites, new recipes, traditional or cultural recipes – you name it, we’d like to read about them and if you include the details, try them out 🙂

Master D decided to make biscuits this week. He looked through some recipe books, pondered and then decided on gingerbread *smile*

(mmm, yes that is a hole in his shirt – do your children munch their clothes sometimes??)

We used:
125 g butter
100 g brown sugar
1/2 cup golden syrup
1 egg
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1 tsp bicarb soda
drop vanilla essence
1 tbsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch cayenne pepper

Cream butter and sugar before adding an egg and the golden syrup.
Next add the flour, spices and vanilla essence. Mix until it is a good firm dough.

Knead the dough before rolling it out on a lightly floured bench.
Cut out shapes.

Bake at 170°C (around 340°F) for around 15 minutes.

Before baking Master D ‘taste tested’ the mix and told me it was delicious and that these biscuits are his favourite *smile*

We can’t wait to see what you’ve been baking!
