Making pretty things ~ melted bead bowls

We enjoy making beautiful things…
Colourful, bright, and pretty
We were very taken with melted bead bowls when we discovered them
{although I can’t remember where we first spotted them}

We bought some lovely Hama beads… sparkly ones, rainbow ones and some pastels…

After greasing an oven proof bowl Dino Boy pushed the beads down…
 until there was a single layer reaching up the sides
Then into the oven it went at 200°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes

Once it was cool I peeled it away from the glass bowl
and we turned it into a hat?!

Aren’t they pretty *smile*

Can’t wait to make more!

Happy crafting, Kelly

    Help! I tried to make a melted bead bowl and it didn’t come out right. Instead of the beads expanding and melting together they shrunk and some beads separated from the other beads. I followed the instructions. The only thing I can think of is that I used plastic beads I bought from Walmart instead of hama beads. Can you help?

      Hi Alicia, we used hama beads here, so perhaps they do make all the difference? Sorry yours didn’t turn out for you, and I hope if you try again it does.
