Waldorf blogs that inspire…

In my first post for this series ~ How to bring Waldorf into your home… I mentioned that I’ve spent hours seeking out Waldorf blogs.

I’ve sought out these blogs because I wanted to know more about Waldorf. I wanted to know how families incorporated Waldorf into their days, I wanted to find craft ideas & patterns, and I wanted to find inspiration.

And I wasn’t disappointed!

So I thought I would share my reading list with you all… Now this is not a complete list, but rather those blogs that I go back to time and again.

The Magic Onions

This is where it started for me, and a great starting place it was.
Donni’s series Discovering Waldorf is very informative,
and I love finding inspiration at each Friday’s Nature Table.

Beneath the Rowan Tree

Another original favourite, here I discovered about the magic of play silks and other Waldorf toys.

And found craft ideas for Dino Boy and I.

Anna Branford
The most amazingly beautiful crafts you will ever see.
Anna also writes wonderful children’s books {which I am rather partial to myself}

Hinterland Mama

Aleta’s lovely space spoke to me straight away.
I love the way she shares glimpses of her family’s Waldorf lifestyle, beautiful crafting, and scrumptious baking.

Chocolate Eyes

Becca writes from the heart about homeschooling her boys, gardening and crafting.
It was finding Becca’s family rhythm that inspired me to create our own pictorial rhythm.

In reading back over my list, it strikes me that I feel like I know many of these wonderfully inspiring bloggers, despite having never met any of them in person! Amazing wouldn’t you say *smile*
But I can’t resist sharing some more! There are so many others I enjoy visiting…

How to bring Waldorf into your home… a series

When I first discovered Waldorf, I didn’t know what I had happened across, except that it was beautiful and I wanted to know more. Something about ‘Waldorf’ spoke to me, of innocence, beauty and wonder.

It happened one day, when I was looking for craft ideas to enjoy with Dino Boy. I was searching for nature crafts and happily stumbled upon The Magic Onions and Beneath the Rowan Tree. There I discovered whimsical, simple and lovely ideas for crafting with my boy.

From there my journey of discovery continued, I devoured the Discovering Waldorf articles on The Magic Onions. I spent hours seeking more of these ‘Waldorf blogs‘ and liking what I found.

What was it I was seeking though?

For by then, it was more than crafts. It was a way of making a home and a way to parent. A way that spoke to me and felt right for my family.

I remember chatting to my wonderful friend Fraggle and telling her about my discovery of Waldorf. And it was lucky that I did share my excitement, because she asked whether I was looking into our local Waldorf school.

I hadn’t even realised we had a local Waldorf school!

But before you could click your fingers three times we were enrolled for playgroup and for school when it was time {ok, I did explore it some more before enrolling, but it was pretty quick!}

Along the way, I also started devouring all the books about Waldorf I could get my hands on *grin*
And I must say, my passion for Waldorf continues to grow.
