How to make simple stilts

At our local hardware store the other week I spotted these great chair feet….
and straight away I knew what I was going to use them for *smile*
…stilts!!

Husband of Mine drilled through the sides for me 
{the other hole was already there for its typical use}

And after giving them a good sand I wood burned circles all round…
…to fill with fun colour *smile*

To keep them good for outside play I spray painted them with outdoor wood varnish

Before threading through some rope…
And then he was off!

Simple stilts ~ simple fun!

Happy Family Times ~ going to the zoo

Who doesn’t love going to the zoo!

We took the kids to our local zoo the other day
Nana-ma and Uncle S also came along…

I think we were all equally excited *smile*

Little Miss Q enjoyed seeing the animals while staying close to me

Aren’t lions magnificent! 
We got to see them eat icy poles *smile*

While this little fella ~ a red panda ~ enjoyed his bamboo!

Dino Boy and Husband of Mine were checking out the Meerkats…

What funny little critters they are…
…they reminded us of our Wookie dog at home… 
…he sits like this when he hears a noise too!
Dino Boy was very excited and then quite mesmerised by the penguins

And by that time Little Miss Q was ready for a drink and sleep!
