Wet on wet watercolour

I’ve been admiring the gorgeous wet on wet watercolour paintings I’ve seen on many Waldorf inspired blogs lately. After watching a video on how to do it via a link shared on The Magic Onions, we gave it a go.

Master D thought it was quite amusing to put paper in the bath for a soak while we set up our paint 🙂

But he loved swirling the colours around and mixing them up – leading to new colours.

There was something quite calming about painting this way.

And, as I’m starting to do with each activity, I gave it a go too.

I think we could easily end up with walls full of these gorgeous paintings if I don’t restrain myself!

Warm wishes, Kelly

Plates by Master D

We’re aiming to make most of our Christmas presents this year, and to foster a love of giving in our children. Luckily we also love being creative 🙂 and getting inspired by others.

We bought some nice plain white plates, one for each of us, and some special paint pens (DecoColour opaque paint markers) that you can use on ceramics.

I gave Master D a red, yellow, green and blue pen and let him go for it! He thought it was great fun getting to paint on plates!

He painted a picture of Little Miss Q on her plate. He told me as he painted, ‘she has a big head and big eyes, two legs and two arms’ – I think this is my favourite 🙂 (sorry, for some reason it keeps rotating the photo to the side)

A dinosaur in a cave for his (surprise, surprise!) (and again, on it’s side):

 A rainbow for daddy:

And a dinosaur with a Wookie dog for me 🙂

Now we are going to wrap them up to put under the tree for Christmas. Oh, and I couldn’t help myself and gave it a go too 🙂

Warm wishes, Kelly
