An Easter story

easter rabbit in little girls handThis is a sponsored post

This week my children discovered three sweet rabbits sitting on our nature table.

Since then, the rabbits have enjoyed many adventures *grin*

And one adventure surprised me very much.

It was the sweet story of a little rabbit learning how to deliver the eggs for Easter.

The reason it surprised me, is that my daughter heard the story last year at our parent-led Waldorf inspired playgroup. And had not heard the story since.

That she remembered the story so well, and was able to recreate the story in her own sweet way, shows how deeply Waldorf storytelling works for our children.

And this is the story…

Mama rabbit helped little rabbit on his way. He was learning how to deliver the eggs for Easter.

Little rabbit hopped away, taking an egg to the duck in the creek. But alas, as he was about to place the egg it rolled into the creek.

‘You are little yet, you tried hard and next time you might deliver the egg safely’ said mama rabbit when little rabbit returned home.

Next little rabbit took an egg over the bridge to deliver it to a nearby gnome. But alas, as he got to the other side he accidentally dropped the egg and it broke.

Again mama rabbit consoled little rabbit when he reached home, ‘you are little yet, you tried hard and next time you might deliver the egg safely’ she said.

Little rabbit set out again with a special egg. And this time he reached the Toadstool lady in the bush.

But alas, just as he was placing the egg down, he tripped and landed on the egg.

Again his mama consoled him, ‘you are little yet, you tried hard and next time you might deliver the egg safely’ she said.

Little rabbit took a deep breath and then carefully set out on his way.

Over the bridge he went, through the bush, until he reached a little kangaroo. There he very carefully placed the egg.

He had done it! Little rabbit was ready to deliver the eggs at Easter *smile*

Our family rhythm

family rhythm

It’s funny. Each time I come to share about our family rhythm, it is when it is changing. Maybe this makes sense, coming from a place of reflection.

Over the past six or so months, we had happily settled into a nurturing rhythm that held us through our days.

We started our weeks with our parent-led Waldorf inspired playgroup. And I am so thankful to have this as the start to our weeks, because it helps me set my parenting intentions for the week ahead (more on that another day *grin*).

We flowed through to Tuesdays. A day when a sweet little friend joined us to play. We baked, we read, we sang and most of all they played.

And on Wednesdays we danced. Oh the joy to watch her dance. To see her joy and happiness as she twirled, pointed her toes and collected snowflakes from the air. And our dancing was followed by visits to a sweet bakery ~ lovely happy days. For a few, we even journeyed by bus ~ what fun adventures!

Thursdays to market, to market we went. Choosing fresh fruit and vegetables. Visiting the bakery, the butcher ~ all that was missing was the candlestick maker *wink*

And Fridays. Oh Fridays. Our day to catch our breath. To garden, to play… to rest.

Then our family weekends. Projects around the house and garden, family movie night and board games *smile*

Now we shift. And our days change, as we find and settle into our new rhythm. A rhythm that includes me working more while still striving for balance.

Some days I have left incomplete as yet, allowing space for them to become what they will.

Blessings, Kelly
