Happy lil ❤’s are baking #2

What did you bake with your little ones this week? Or, if you don’t have anything new we’d love to see something from your archives 😉

Below is a linky list to join in the fun and start sharing what you bake with your children so we can inspire each other. Family favourites, new recipes, traditional or cultural recipes – you name it, we’d like to read about them and if you include the details, try them out 🙂

This week we used a dinosaur baking mould that our wonderful friend Fraggle gave Master D for Christmas.
Fraggle’s namesake
We made this patty cake mix:
100 g butter
200 g sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
250 g self raising flour
Beat butter and condensed milk until pale and creamy.
Add eggs and milk, followed by flour.
Bake for around 25 minutes at 180°C (around 350°F I think…)
This was our first time using a silicon baking mould, so they turned out a tad browner than normal.
Master D decided the dinosaur should be pink with lots and lots of sprinkles (again with the edible glitter)!
Not the prettiest cake, but he did taste yummy 🙂
Roar!
We can’t wait to see what you are baking!

Plates by Master D

We’re aiming to make most of our Christmas presents this year, and to foster a love of giving in our children. Luckily we also love being creative 🙂 and getting inspired by others.

We bought some nice plain white plates, one for each of us, and some special paint pens (DecoColour opaque paint markers) that you can use on ceramics.

I gave Master D a red, yellow, green and blue pen and let him go for it! He thought it was great fun getting to paint on plates!

He painted a picture of Little Miss Q on her plate. He told me as he painted, ‘she has a big head and big eyes, two legs and two arms’ – I think this is my favourite 🙂 (sorry, for some reason it keeps rotating the photo to the side)

A dinosaur in a cave for his (surprise, surprise!) (and again, on it’s side):

 A rainbow for daddy:

And a dinosaur with a Wookie dog for me 🙂

Now we are going to wrap them up to put under the tree for Christmas. Oh, and I couldn’t help myself and gave it a go too 🙂

Warm wishes, Kelly
