Dinosaur dress-ups

I think I may have mentioned that Master D (3) is dinosaur mad?! So instead of just letting the dinosaur fever pass, I’ve embraced it – this week is going to be all about dinosaurs, with a few other letter ‘D’ things thrown in 🙂 Even our dress-up box has ‘gone dino’.

Recently I started learning how to sew. Luckily my mum and mother-in-law have given me some lessons and lots of help! And, I’ve found some fantastic patterns and tutorials in blogland (love the sharing!).

For my third sewing attempt I made a dinosaur tail, using a great tutorial from Running with Scissors. It was super easy to follow and I’m really happy with the result 🙂 (especially if you ignore the ‘could be neater’ sewing at the base of the tail).

Little Miss Q – ‘going dino’

After Master D played dino in the tail for awhile he asked if I could make a dino hat too. So I jumped online and found a pattern and tutorial at From an Igloo. It was fun to make although it turned out a little small for Master D, so Little Miss Q now gets to ‘go dino’ too. Next I tried an ‘upcycled’ dress-up version for Master D (and it also fits me). Actually, I really quite like wearing it, even though my husband first thought I was a chook!

Thanks for reading, Kelly

I’m so impressed you tacked the dino tail as your 3rd sewing project! It turned out great and it looks like your little guy just loves it–the best part!
