We love painting and are always on the lookout for new ways to do it! So when I came across a post about stained glass windows – I thought – we’ve got to try that. Mind you, we have gone a fair bit simpler and more ‘freestyle’ here 🙂
We used the glass from some photo frames that I bought at a local $2 shop and some lovely acrylic paint mixed with pva glue (1:1). Master D loved the bright vibrant colours and swirling them around on the glass.

And I even got in on the action 🙂 Aren’t they pretty!

What a fun idea. Where are you going to use them? Are you going to put them back in the frames?
Thanks everyone for your lovely comments 🙂 Shiloh, I’m looking out for some suction caps and hope they might hold them on the window – fingers crossed! Warm wishes, kelly

Neat, neat project. So you mixed the paint with some glue? That probably helps to create transulancy?
Hi Miss Moe, yes we did mix the acrylic paint with pva glue with a ratio of 1:1, and it did help with the translucency – good luck with them, they were great fun! Kelly
Great craft idea!! Thanks for sharing at Shine on Friday!! You always have such inspiring ideas. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to next:)
I really like them. Do you have a way to hang them in your windows? I am trying to imagine how to do that without a hole cut in them. Thanks for sharing on Monday Madness. I love all your posts.
I’m glad you enjoy reading my posts Laura :-)I’m on the look out for double sided suction caps to hopefully hang our glass paintings, so fingers crossed! Warm wishes, Kelly
